Do you have a favorite outfit or piece of clothing that you love to wear?

Butterball does. His Gobbers Seaboot.

Translation: Lobster bathing suit.

Yesterday was the start of week 11.

Yes, he has worn the same bathing suit everyday for 11 weeks. Sometimes he even sleeps in it.

He likes it best with no shirt or shoes. Yes, he has a drawer full of cute shorts and tops. He is not interested. At his age Cricket and Clay were dressed in matching smocked outfits. I wouldn't even let them wear the same thing two days in a row. I don't know if I have gotten more laid back, or just tired. School starts for him this week, I am hoping we can persuade him to branch out. Cross your fingers.

Seventeen Again

I can't believe the summer is almost over. When I was younger I loved this time of year. Not because school was starting, but because with the end of August came the Seventeen Magazine back-to-school issue. It was as big as an encyclopedia and full of the latest fashions. Sitting on the beach poring over the sweaters, skirts and jeans was heaven. And it meant Fall was right around the corner.

These rooms remind me of Fall.

The colors, textures and mix of patterns. Love it! I want to mix some patterns and look at some back to school clothes.

What about you? Did you read Seventeen? What's the adult equivalent, the September issue of Vogue?

Mary Kate, Ashley and The Loaded Trunk

I've always liked Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.

I think they have great style.

Some people think they look like bag ladies...Maybe homeless chic?

I saved this page from an Allure magazine from 2004 because I loved the shoes Mary Kate wore to the photo shoot. I have been looking for a pair ever since.

Then while over at Coco and Kelley I heard about The Loaded Trunk.

Bye Bye Crib

Somebody is moving to a big boy bed.

It makes me a little sad. He sure is growing up fast.

Butterball's last night in his crib. I guess he's not a baby anymore. (Look at that face! So trusting. He has no idea what's in store for him tonight! Any helpful hints?)

And then the classic. Saint James Meridien Tee from J Crew. I am leaning this way. Does anyone have one of these tees? Any advice on sizing? Will it change my life and bring me unlimited joy?

From Mr. Blue Hydrangea... I must say I'm proud of Sissy for growing something in our yard and then eating it, but to be completely honest, by "growing figs" she means she had the landscaper plant a fig tree 5 years ago and then she goes out and picks figs every August. Not exactly what you'd call a green thumb.

So Proud...

Look what I did all by myself!

Yes, I actually grew something. Something yummy I can eat. I feel like a cross between Johnny Appleseed and Laura Ingalls Wilder.

In all honesty, I had a little help from the sun and the rain and blah, blah, blah, but I did pick the figs all by myself. This may inspire me to plant something else. Of course, other crops may need tending to and that is not my strong suit. My fig tree is not attractive, but it is very independent.

So what about you? Have you ever grown something you can actually eat? Weren't you proud?

The Story of Tory

Confession: I have never been a huge Tory Burch fan. Please don't tell her, or it might be awkward when I see her next. Don't get me wrong, I thought her clothing was nice and everyone who wore it always looked great; it just wasn't for me. And that dang giant logo bugged me.

But things are changing. At the grocery store last night I saw her on the cover of Town and Country and she was wearing my necklace. My exact necklace I got for birthing Butterball! I wonder who she birthed to get her necklace?

And then these clothes!!

I can't even begin to tell you what joy they bring me.

Especially these last two outfits. If you listen, you can hear them calling my name. It's a shame I'm so cheap, or I would be all over this....

This and That...

I got several inquires about my bathroom wallpaper from this post.

It is by Thibaut. Bamboo Lattice from Spring Lake. I have to say I love it as much today as I did when I picked it out four years ago. For me, that is saying a lot!

Now I need a little help. Last week I found a fun new blog that I thought I bookmarked. I didn't and now I can't find it. It was called Southern Bourbon Something. Or Southern Bonbon Something. Have any idea what I'm talking about? If so, leave me the correct blog name. Thanks!

Spin Art

I am busy with another week of Art Camp so my posts my be few and far between. I did want to show you an update on the Spin Art post I did last week.

Tammy from In Stitches, saw my post and decided to give spin art a try.

She used records which is such a great idea and painted in a box to keep the mess contained.

I am so impressed! I think the finished product is fabulous and makes a great colorful statement. Don't you love it!!?? I may forget my over-sized ambitions and do several smaller pieces like Tammy. Now I need to track down my old Saturday Night Fever and Grease albums.

Whoa! Hot pink. I like everything about these little piggies except their price. Over $200. It seems funny to pay over $200 on something you are supposed to be saving money in...

Then last week I saw this little guy over at I Suwannee. Jamie is carrying these happy little porkers in her store Furbish Studio. The best part? She has two sizes: 5" for $20 and 8" for $25. That's more like it!
