And saving pictures that I love.
Vintage tee from J Crew. I like, but I am not sure it is love.
I thought this tee from C & C California would be cute for now and into early fall.

And then the classic. Saint James Meridien Tee from J Crew. I am leaning this way. Does anyone have one of these tees? Any advice on sizing? Will it change my life and bring me unlimited joy?

I am on the same quest! I bought the original St. James, but had to return mine b/c the fit was too boxy for me, once you factor in that those stripes are running horizontal! The JCrew one is a good option, and there is a cute one from Splendid as well! Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Boden? they have a few in their current catalog. Try the "Hamptons Tee" which comes in several colors. Would be cute with their canvas biker jacket! Ava
ReplyDeleteI am ALWAYS looking for the "perfect" striped tee...I have a few, but they are not "perfect"
ReplyDeleteI own J. Crew's vintage tee. Mine is not as fitted as the one on the model. I think it's major drawback for me is that it's gray and white and not navy and white (which is a look I prefer). I have a few navy and white striped summery tops and skirts. I will say I like the bateau neckline on the vintage - it's nice and feminine as opposed to a basic crew neck. Good luck on your quest!
ReplyDeleteAnn Taylor has one too - 3/4 length sleeves, fitted with a round neck. And only $28! I also saw a great one somewhere recently that had a rosette on one shoulder - can't remember where it was!
ReplyDeleteA blue and white striped tee is so timeless and looks effortless.
ReplyDeleteI agree - can't go wrong with a striped tee. Finding one, not so easy. I'd be going for the JCrew I think :)
ReplyDeleteI really like http://www.peterbeaton.com
ReplyDeleteQuarter length sleeves are perfect for the summer/fall.
i got a great one from target of all places!!!its made by merona..
ReplyDeleteSo I have found the perfect striped shirt (in my opinion). They are a little pricey, $98, but come in some wonderful colors. The fabric is a spandex, but oh so comfortable. 3/4 sleeve. I highly recommend them. From J.Mclaughlin, here is the site...

ReplyDeleteI bought this one last year and wear it often...super soft...can dress up or down.
I just received my new Chance shirt in the mail and I really love the quality. It's thin, super soft, and very fitted. I'm a bit busty so I had to order the x large and I'm very happy I did. I blogged about Chance, as many did, but I have a personal connection with the creator and I can tell you that this little company is very special. Oh, and the shirts are less $ than my St James. xo

I have the vintage tee from J.Crew and it's fabulous.
ReplyDeleteEmerson made has an adorable one:)
ReplyDeleteI also love nautical stripes...especially this summer as they are so popular! Here are two of my favorites that I have been wearing a lot lately!

ReplyDeleteA perfect anything always gives me the illusion that everything is perfect; and even if it is momentary, I love illusion!

I cannot tell you how many stripped t's I own. And I know that I probably shouldn't wear them but I love them. Esp the classic boatneck style....thanks for the sources. I need a new one!
ReplyDeleteI really like these tops! Especially with the distressed jeans! Preppy meets Rocker...love it!
ReplyDeleteThe striped tee is such a classic and I have gone through many in my lifetime. I like some of those now a little more fitted with a touch of Lycra.

I have the J.Crew in grey and navy! LOVE it and it is a little long which is nice. I ordered true to size! Too bad we don't live in the same town or you could just pop over and try it on!!! What size are you? I also have a cute tight 3/4 length one from somewhere that won't ever fit me again now that I'm 30 and can't shed a pound!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of the inspiration, I've been on the look out for the perfect striped tee, too. I'm loving the J. Crew options...
ReplyDeleteLove the last one but I must tell you that the other day I was in either TJ Maxx or Marshalls and they had a great looking one. I am kicking myself that I did not buy it but I was in a HUGE rush and the line was very long.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the tj maxx suggestion. this summer I have gotten four great striped shirts from there. one I bought baggy and have enjoyed pairing it with a tight cotton mini.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried.....?
