I've decided I need a job. I only have a few requirements.

The job must not interfere with:
1. Shopping at Target
2. My nap
3. Blogging
4. Watching Oprah
Other than that I am totally open to any and all job opportunities. To make things easier for any headhunters that may be reading my blog, I have complied a list of jobs that I would be interested in and feel I am uniquely qualified for.

Jenna Lyons' job as Creative Director of J Crew.
I like J Crew. I shop at J Crew. I could come up with new t shirt designs season after season.

Plus, I could wear my Boyfriend Fatigue Jacket and fit right in. Yes, I broke down and bought it. It has brought me lots of joy and just may help me land the job of my dreams.
Keith Johnson's job as Buyer Extraordinaire for Anthropologie.
I am practically an Anthropologie stalker. I might as well get paid for it.
I can travel. I can shop. What more do they need?

And last but not least, I am available to take over Oprah's show when she retires next year. Have you met me? I like to talk. I like celebrities. I am in a book club and I have a ton of favorite things. It is like we are clones.
Plus, it has always been my dream to work for a magazine. Owning my own would just be that much better.
What do you think? Am I on the right track?

I need a job like this too. Can I be your assistant at whatever job you secure? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCan I get a couple front row tickets when you take over for Oprah?
ReplyDeleteDef on the right track--- can't wait to see which one you choose to do!! :)
ReplyDeleteEric just had a little girl in Thailand-maybe you can go over and be the nanny cuz Lord knows we don't want him raising a child- he was not even a good cat sitter
ReplyDeleteI {heart} you. Just sayin'! This was the perfect thing to read on a blah Wednesday morning and I, too, would be perfect for all those jobs.
ReplyDeleteOh, and my current job interferes with all 4 of the requirements which you say a job shouldn't. :)
ReplyDeleteThe offers must be pouring in right about now. I'd hire you. :D
ReplyDeletewell, if you happen to get hired on to any of these positions I would like to apply for your assistant position:)
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up - I love it! I think with that cute J Crew jacket you could conquer the world!
ReplyDeleteYou are dead on. Please feel free to use me as a reference! xx
ReplyDeleteSomeday I will have one of these fabulous jobs...! As Jenna Lyons said on Oprah a few weeks ago, "you just have to love what you do, and do it 110%."
ReplyDeleteYou might be over qualified.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Your priorities are in order and I would think you're already receiving tons of calls. I'd so love being your assistant...I promise I'll go buy one of those jackets! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am search of a similar job! When you find it..let us know!;)
ReplyDeleteyou scared me for a minute - i thought, 'you CAN NOT quit blogging for a job'. but I see you have your priorities right....can we just figure out how to get paid for blogging.....?
ReplyDeleteI love it!! BTW I just had a diet coke and some quality magazine time and you came into my head!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteI *love* this post! I would give anything to have any of those jobs... Or find something that would fit your requirements!! A great post for a blah Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteLOL!! You know, I'm in the job market too! If I see anything that interferes with my requirement of not starting before 10:30 AM (cuz, you know, I like to lazily watch the sun come up and get ready at my own leisure...) - if I come across anything, I'll let you know.
ReplyDeleteHilarity! I am not so motivated. And since it looks like you have many applicants for assistant. Maybe I could be assistant to the assistant?
ReplyDeletei have a job, and it's so annoying when I think how much it interferes with everything else in my life.
ReplyDeleteOMG -- this is a perfect description of the job that I need too! I love this post -- too funny. xxoo
ReplyDeleteI read your post this morning before running out the door. Did not have a chance to comment, so I'm back now. I'm guessing your phone was ringing off the hook today with offers...which one will you take? Fun post!
ReplyDeleteSo many options. You may need to have someone screen all your calls for you. Oprah can be pesky when she want someone ;)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, being a buyer would be fantastic! Better than Oprah.
When you find a job like that let me know- because it sounds perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou freaking crack me up.
ReplyDeleteI love it! You should totally have those jobs. Any way you can roll them all into one?
ReplyDeleteSigh...these are dream jobs indeed! When you start your own magazine, please hire me :)
ReplyDeleteYou have the attitude for any of these! It's the sense of humor that clinches the deal!
