Banking Mother's Day

I'm a little funny about gift giving - or gift getting. For most holidays I like to bank my gifts. That means I pick out something small or nothing at all and bank the rest, basically saving up for future purchases. Then when I see something really special I can get it. Takes a lot of pressure off Bill, forces the kids to make me something, which is what I really want, and when I do find something special I can get it without guilt...everybody's happy. I banked my Mother's Day gift this year and for something small Bill bought me a book I have been dying to read...

A Well Tempered Heart by Jan-Philipp Senker
It's the sequel to one of my favorite books The Art of Hearing Heartbeats.
Locke made me a key chain and Cricket wrote me a great poem but she has refused to let me share it - it's is a description of me and she hit the nail on the head. And I feel sure Clay is in his room right now making me a special gift!!

And then my center piece for lunch - flowers from a sweet boy!!
Guess what is most interesting about this little arrangement?
It makes me want to add a little pink to my house..yes, I said it, pink!
I just love it with the blue and the flowers really brightened everything up. Now I am not going to go crazy but I may look for a pillow or a small painting or who knows what. I'll let you know what I come up with.

Hope you had a great weekend and Mother's Day!
