Nata

Locke turns four on Saturday. I know, I can't believe it either.
The one thing he wants the most for his birthday is a nata.
He talked about it for days and I could not figure out what he was talking about. Until he said "you know mom, you hit it with a stick and prizes come out." Oh, a pinata. Well, that is right up my alley. I would love to whip up a pinata for my baby boy. I had something like this in my mind...

Oh Happy Day

Mini pinatas!! Can you say party favor?

Martha Stewart
These are really just paper lanterns but I could so turn them into pinatas

Blues and greens - does it get any better?

Pinatas have come along way and you know I love a good craft. Sadly Locke and I have different ideas...does he want a beautiful hand made pinata? That would be a no. He wants...

Lightning McQueen.
So, I am going to buy him one. Even if it is red and made in China.
It is his day after all, right?

  2. Aw... you're a good mom!

PS-- coming back from Wilmington with a (mostly) empty van this weekend if you had any customers this way who wanted any of your amazing finds.

  3. Thank you for my daily giggle. "Even if it is red . . ." such a very funny, very you statement. I feel your pain. I had to get my son a Buzz Lightyear nata one year. Although, I am not crafty so I didn't mind as much! :)

  4. Just an FYI. I got the Lightning pinata for my son a few years back. If yours is the same as mine, it's not the "hitting" kind. Those "strings" on the bottom are for pulling. Each child takes a turn pulling one out. It's rigged so one of the strings will open the candy trap. It was poorly made, so one of the older kids had to beat it open in the end (not easy to do) . Very disappointing.

  6. You will just have to plan a "Pretty Pinata Party" for yourself! I love the ideas of the Martha Stewart paper lanterns turned "natas." Happy birthday to your baby boy!

  9. Paper work is always perfect way to make attractive any room. That chandelier of paper is gorgeous with simple but stylish furniture and great tea party you arranged.
