Fuzzy Vogue

The good news is that I am loving the new Vogue.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Missoni for Target...What's not to love?
The bad news? While waiting in line to pay for my magazine I started flipping through the pages. Why was everything so fuzzy? Had I gone blind in the past week? Evidently yes, yes I had, because I couldn't read one stinking word. I wasn't about to put my magazine back, so I got out of line and found me a pair of...

Seeing eye glasses (as opposed to sunglasses). Yes, I am now the proud owner of magnifying glasses from the grocery store. If you have ever wondered who would buy glasses at the grocery store, now you know. It's me. You wouldn't believe what a difference they make. No more large print books from the library for me. Kidding. Sort of.
What about you? Anything looking fuzzy?

  1. That happened to me, quite literally overnight, just as I turned 43! Reading glasses are now a life-long nuisance, but it sure does make those pictures look bigger and brighter!

  2. I think I'm getting there. I'm having to hold things out farther than I used to. It sucks getting old. But those glasses are cute!

  3. Next step is multiple pairs in every room! It's sad!

  4. Welcome to the club. You're on the slippery slope now! Mine started at 45 and my doc said my problem was "too many birthdays". He said it's very common that the ability to focus leaves around the mid-forties.

  6. Oh honey, I am so sorry. It does happen overnight. Hate that. My come to Jesus happened at our local Mexican restaurant.... they got new spiffy menus printed and I remarked to my girls that I thought it was odd that they would print the new menus in a fuzzy font. It is a slippery slope from there.

Cute readers? May I recommend Eye Bobs? My favorite are called Adult Supervision. :)

  11. I am on the tippy tippy verge of needing dime store reading glasses...so close, I won't even try them on, if you get what I'm sayin'...

  13. A new magazine - rush home and make a pot of tea and browse. No reading glasses yet but do need for distance and that came upon me suddenly too.
I love your blog and am your newest follower.
Stop over and visit me at someday for a cup of tea

  15. I turned 41 this year and I have no idea what has happened! I guess I'll have to break down and get the glasses when my arms are no longer long enough to hold something out any further!
    Take care,

  16. Love it! It happened to me literally overnight too. I picked up some medicine for my children and literally couldn't read the label. I bought some hideous glasses at a check out line and then finally some cute ones in the Hamptons this summer. However, it still feels like it's really not me to pull out my "reading glasses," they're for "old people"...except when I need to see!
