I can't believe I am showing you this but you can't have a good "after" if you don't have a really bad "before"...
So I present to you my closet...
Yikes!! Are you scared? Disgusted? I know it's bad. Every Sunday night I try to clean it up and get everything straight to start the week but then all hell breaks loose and I end up with this mess. There is no storage, it is cedar which means dark, dark, dark and it has a poor layout.
So I am gonna fix this mess...
I emptied it last night, Bill ripped out the shelves and the painters come Thursday. The new closet will be installed next week. I hope I love it!! I hope my clothes all fit and have their own special little spot where they can stay.
Cross your fingers.
And what about you? Neat closet or clothing disaster?
Can't wait to see the after!!
ReplyDeleteMy closet is pretty much a disaster too. I do have some drawers and shelves, but I'm terrible about just throwing things in there. Mine is long and narrow and has bad fluorescent lighting which is now burning out, so it's dark too. Uggh. Can't wait to see yours! Maybe it will inspire me to get my act together. Maybe.
ReplyDeletePrior to having closets installed our situation was exactly like yours. You start to feel like you simply aren't organized. Now I find things so easily.
ReplyDeleteMagic!

It's going to be awesome! Funny, you should ask about my closet - you see our apartment is OLD (well for West Coast standards - pre-1906) and so there are some funky things about it...oh, say, like having a corner cupboard for a closet. Picture this - closet built into a coner with five shelves that are triangular shaped. My room will never be clean.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by this idea of removing the cedar. Any reason why? I'n curious b/c we have a cedar closet that's desperate for reconditioning.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteexciting!! Show pictures. And I have seen your closet many times, and it was never as bad as that picture!! You are so neat. xo
