Summer Rules Repeat

I had a reader request that I re-post my summer rules -it's been two years and not much has changed so here goes:

Tomorrow is the last day of school and the official start of summer for me. I am a little scared. Excited but scared. Scared of my kids and excited because I get to implement my summer rules. Thought they might be helpful to you as well.

1. A swim in the pool counts as a bath.

2. A swim in the ocean does not. Unless you rinse off with a hose afterwards.

3. Soap and shampoo are optional.

4. Cheese sticks count as a balanced meal if fried and dipped in marinara sauce and followed by a grape Popsicle.

5. Never serve your kids chilled juice boxes. If you do, they will always want them chilled. My kids think juice boxes are supposed to be served at room temperature.

6. If you are 3 or under, underwear is an acceptable outfit.
(Update:I am extending the age on this one to five since Locke seems to spend 90% of the time in his boxers)

7. Ring pops are an acceptable form of bribery.

8. Naps are mandatory. For me, not the kids.

There you have it, rules to get you through the summer with your sanity. What about you? Any helpful hints you want to share?
