There are a lot of hidden dangers during the holidays. I was the victim of one and wanted to pass along this warning to you. If you see these little silver and red guys during the holidays do NOT eat them. Yes, they look sweet and innocent but they are deadly. Deadly addictive. I don't even particularly care for sugar and almost never eat sweets. (I'm a salt alcoholic and get really cranky when I have sugar)
I bought a bag of the Hershey Candy Cane Kisses purely for decoration. Friday night I decided to try one: smooth, creamy white chocolate with tiny bits of candy cane sprinkled in. I decided to have one more. An entire handful later I knew I was in for a bad sugar trip. It was worth it but I have learned my lesson. Has anyone else tried these? Did you find them unusually yummy?
oh no. I won't be able to resist these. I'm surprised YOU weren't able to resist these. I'm in trouble. xo
ReplyDeleteyou can afford to eat 10 bags of them you're so thin Sissy!! They do sound yummy....
ReplyDeleteThey are the best! There is also a peppermint crunch version of Junior Mints. I am obsessed with all things candy! xx
ReplyDeleteThis salt-aholic, pass-the-french-fries-not-the-desert, anti-sweets girl just polished off an entire bag in 3 days! Now yesterday I couldn't find them in the store! I'll have to stock up next year. There's something about the crunch of those tiny candies in there...mmmm.
ReplyDeleteI actually just encountered these on top of a cookie my friend made for a cookie swap. Yum! Now I want a bag of my own. Thanks for the warning. I think they're probably just as addictive as the peppermint/white chocolate-covered pretzels I found at Whole Foods. Beware, they are addictive as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warning. I love sugar and can polish off a box of just about anything so I will stay away.
ReplyDeleteuh oh.
ReplyDeleteomg..running to get these today!

MMMMM these go perfect with my post from Monday and my craving!
ReplyDeleteOh yes I bought a bag too for "decoration". Luckily my husband ate most of them even after he said he "didn't really care for them" lol!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Trader Joe's Candy Cane Joe Joe's? Those murder.
ReplyDeletethey are very addictive! and because they are so small, you don't realize how many you've had till it's too late.
ReplyDeleteps. Do NOT try the chocolate mint truffles either
OK- thanks for the suggestion-just polished off a bag. No more food posts Sissy!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the warning...Now I need them:)
ReplyDeleteThere is absolutely no way I could have those anywhere near me. Thanks for the heads up! I hope they're at the party I'm going to tonight. ;)
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing. Picked them up last weekend in Duane Reede purely because they would look great in a mercury glass bowl I had put out for the holidays and haven't been able to stop eating them since!
ReplyDeleteI totally hear ya. My son and I are both addicted. They are sooooo good. Sometimes I have to hide them from my husband!
ReplyDeleteGotta love a good holiday treat.
Blessings,
Holly

... well you know you don't put on weight if
ReplyDelete- nobody sees you eating
- eat only little bits at a time
- when food is cold as you need more calories to burn .. (like ice cream)
- when it is dark (f. i. dark choclate)
- or when you do a good deed - like supporting the vendor or so
greetings from Germany
(we have the problem of Glühwein ..sweet hot wine.. and Bratwurst on our Christmas markets over here ...)
Gina
