It's a Sign

Remember this picture from yesterday? I was considering trying to duplicate this on my laundry room floor. Then while browsing the Internet I stumbled across...

This! Amazing and similar. Wait it gets better. I got a new Anthropologie catalog yesterday and when I opened the first page I was greeted with...

Even more amazingness. This had to be a sign from the design gods that this was the right pattern for me. I got all excited, tore the page out and started working on a stencil. (It didn't go all that well.) Then later, while checking comments, I saw that anonymous was talking about page 30 in the Anthro catalog. What? There was more?

Yep. There it is. Is it tape? Paper? I don't know, but I know it is love. Do you think this is the new chevron? I have got to figure this out and get painting. (Ann, Hooper said you might have some tips for me. I need some!!)

  1. Wow! That is so fun! Clearly stripes would look great too and probably be easier...but if you could pull this off it would be amazing! Love how you found all these great examples!

  6. I was just about to leave you another comment yesterday because I got my Anthro catalog and saw your design. I actually missed the first photo but my jaw dropped when I saw the second image with the design going up on the wall. It looks very David Hicks to me! I thought it was some sort of ribbon but it could be tape. Good luck - I can't wait to see your results!!

  8. Great looking, you can easily make a template or use blue tape to tape off the design and then go for it!! PAINT, AND BRUSH IN HAND!

  11. I don't understand why you're so nervous about this. Just put on your cute new anthro outfit, grab your giant scissors and get cutting! Easy!

  12. So cool! You must do it!

Hmm trying to think of a good way to do it. How large is the floor?

Jon mentioned the other day that it might be easier to line something (a canvas, floor, etc) with painters tape and then take an exacto knife and cut out the pattern.

Or maybe you can take a projector and somehow project it on the floor and then just start painting it out.

Can't wait to see what you do!
