Don't know what a gobber is? The quick answer is anything you wear over and over again. Need more info? Check out this post and this post. Update for my regular readers: Butterball is still wearing his gobbers to school everyday, we are getting ready to start week 14.
Jenna Lyons' gobber is her J Crew (of course) striped t.
She even wore it on Oprah.
I am all about working an outfit you love.
I think her very favorite look is the striped t with the sequin pants.
I know some of these pictures may be from the same day, but I have seen her in this outfit numerous times.
Hey, if it looks good why not wear it again? And again. And again.
What about you? Do you find a look you love and stick with it, or do you like a different outfit for every occasion?
I love it! While for certain occasions I like to mix it up, I have a lot of staple items that I return to again and again. I also tend to buy things in multiple colors if I like the piece (this happens to me a lot at JCrew).
ReplyDeleteLOL! Even style mavens have favorite pieces!

Good call!
ReplyDeleteI love that Butterball is steadfast in his fashion statement.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it? My son loves his Transformers t-shirt, my daughter her poofy skirt. I guess they are only little once unless you grow up to be the creative director for J. Crew. Then you can wear the same thing daily and it makes you trendy. Butterball is trendy. Hold fast little guy!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I totally stick with a few pieces.. so much easier! xx
ReplyDeleteI wash and wear things over and over again. My family has considered doing a clothing intervention on me. xx

I gravitate to key pieces and key looks.
ReplyDeleteoh I will wear something OUT if I like it! my shopping rule is that it has to go with at least three different outfits before it comes home with me.
ReplyDeleteI totally picture you running around in a white and black striped tee at a CE class-you were looking for a partner and Bill G said on the microphone- Hey Sis-ay, can ya not find a partner? I couldn't stop laughing but you were not amused! But always remember that shirt...
ReplyDeletewe love gobbers. too funny!
ReplyDeleteI have totally noticed this about Jenna and her striped shirts. hey, it works for her, and she's probably selling craploads of those boat neck striped shirts at J. Crew - I bought one just the other day. LOL.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I just bought another gray shirt from the gap. Gray shirts are my gobbers (that sounds sad, huh?)
ReplyDeleteI'd only wear that if it was vertical stripes!
love these posts, babe! that one rocked. we all have our 'gobbers' don't we? right now, mine are a pair of cargo pants that my son cast off. you see, I have a serious case of blogger butt right now. gotta do something about that...
ReplyDeleteI am headed to NYC tomorrow to be a part of the design bloggers audience for a taping of the Nate Berkus Show next week. Am I crazy to fly all the way from SC to NYC just to sit in his audience! I think so!
Love to you and have a great weekend! Donna
So funny! I'm sure I have many gobbers. I do love her stripped shirts though... I must say, she always rocks whatever style she's got goin' on!
ReplyDeleteI have many gobbers!
ReplyDeleteAs long as it's comfortable and fits nicely, there's no reason to not reuse it. Have a blast this weekend! Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteI actually own that Jcrew striped top in every color! They are my gobber!
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of whatever whatever makes one feel really good about themself! I give no preference to a true, tried and tested ensemble (or staple piece in the wardrobe) or getting something new for a special event. Feeling good is the reward for dressing in something that is flattering!
ReplyDeleteI have to say my gobber is my jean dress from kensie. It's so basic and the fit is great I can wear it so many ways!
ReplyDeleteI'm down with the stripped shirt but let's be honest, the gold pants are ridiculous!!! Unless you've been invited to an 80's themed party.
