For all those that asked, yes, Butterball wore his gobbers to school the first day and the second day and the third day. When you find a look that works why fool with it.
This is when he saw me at the end of the morning and came a running. How long will he do that? I think time might be running out: I can't picture this same reaction in middle school.
At this point I was all smiles because I was sure he was going to take a nap which meant mama would get a nap. But no such luck. Where does he get his energy?
Butterball is not the only one who started back to school. Cricket and Clay went back last week. Cricket is going through a phase where she won't show her teeth when she smiles. I don't know why and god forbid I suggest it. Can you believe they are twins? So different, one so serious, the other so goofy. Can you tell which one is the goofy one?
One last question....is it time to cut Butterball's hair? He is starting to look like a cross between Kramer and Doc from Back to the Future. If he starts singing Bridge Over Troubled Waters, I am definitely cutting it.
So cute! Where did he get his nickname?
ReplyDeletehaha! noo don't cut it it's gorgeous! I'm trying to grow my little boy's hair but it grows at a snails pace x
ReplyDeletebest blog of the week, sweetheart. It gave me wonderful(Ok, I will admit - a little teary-)memories of those days. The little guy that butterball is carrying reminds me of the bunny that my son went to pre-school with....
ReplyDeleteI his hair is precious...
Butterball has the same hair my baby brother had when he was younger and my parents had a hard time cutting it too--I loooove the curls! Glad to hear everyone started school successfully. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! My brother was the same way with his clothes. I can so relate to these posts.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I think it is time, though I know it would break my heart... I cried (inside, cause I didn't want him to be sad) when we first cut C's hair, but it really looks better (+is more functional) when it's shorter!
ReplyDeleteHe looks so happy! I picked my son up after driver's ed yesterday and he greeted me with a big smile. Things seem to pick up again after the middle school years. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSob, sob. I feel your pain about the hair. My son too has curly locks but Butterball's look like the kind that curl up at the end. So I understand your trepidation. If you cut them, will they come back? Oh, how we torment ourselves. My 5-year-old baby starts his last year of Pre-K today and he keeps making me trim his curls short. It breaks my heart every time. I'm so crazy, I've kept the curls from previous cuts in case they didn't come back.
ReplyDeleteI just love your posts about the kids...all of us moms can identify and have a good chuckle or enjoy a sentimental moment while reading them. Precious that he wore his gobbers...and his hair...well, now that's what makes him cute, cute Butterball!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are taking pictures of him wearting the same thing over and over...so you can tell and show him when he is older.:)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't cut his beautiful curls just yet!
my gosh the twins are getting so big! And the baby is a perfect mix of you two-like Bill's face with your hair if you didn't straighten it and it was shorter!
ReplyDeleteDon't cut those precious curls! Once I cut H's they never came back (although judging from Cricket's hair you probably won't have the same problem). Love the post (and that lobster suit).
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! My little guys hair is exactly the same. I am going to let it grow until school pics...then I might cute it a bit.
ReplyDeleteNo dont cut it!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, Kramer and Back to the Future?! Sissy, you funny girl. Just do whatever you want. he's your baby. xo
ReplyDeleteThey are precious!
ReplyDeleteNo, don't cut it. Love it as is!
Don't cut it! At the beginning of the post I was thinking how he has such super cute curly hair! Enjoy it now before he has his own strong opinions about how he wants to cut his hair! Love the lobster shorts!
ReplyDeleteDon't you dare let scissors get anywhere close to that adorable head of curly locks!!! That is is the third child -- I could care less what my kids wear out the door anymore as long as all privates are covered.
ReplyDeleteToo funny. I love the pics. And, that head of curls. Let him stay natural - at least until he changes his shorts!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful children. I must admit I am a softee for those curls.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Colleen
Oh heavens no! DON'T mess with that hair. It is so angelic. People lust for hair like that! Until the time you can pull it it into a pony tail, leave it be! Then....trim minimally! It's so precious!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are so adorable! I think he looks like a little surfer haha!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are just precious. Enjoy your down time!
ReplyDeleteHello. I saw your blog listed on Rikshaw Design and since I'm a big fan of hydrangeas, I thought I'd stop by.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful family! I do see the resemblance of that dude from Back To The Future in your little boy but I think your little guy does the curly locks so much better! He is adorable!
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and that I love your blog. I love Wilmington too. My family and I just got back from vacation at Kure.
Oh I love that baby boys hair! Dont cut a hair! Great pictures!!!!
ReplyDeleteAn absolute doll on his first day of school!! I love his hair....

Such a sweet post! His hair is adorable, but the Bridge Over Troubled Waters reference...hilarious! If you lived anywhere even remotely close we could have playdates with our youngest and discuss design in person! Please move north! :)
ReplyDeleteCutest post!!! No, you can't cut it yet. They are such cute kids.
ReplyDeleteLiam still gets called "she" when we check out somewhere. I just can't do short yet.
Thanks for your sweet message the other day. I needed it :)
Julie
