Did You See Emily Henderson?

I have been having computer problems again. I swear if it doesn't get straightened out soon, my head is going to pop off my body!! I have been trying to get this post out for two days!! I just wanted to know if you watched Emily Henderson's new show on HGTV. You know, the girl who won Design Star.

I just couldn't bear to watch Design Star. I don't know why. Maybe because everything just looked sloppy and cheap. I can do sloppy and cheap. I need more pizazz in my T.V. viewing. But I decided to give Secrets From a Stylist a chance and I loved it.

She redid a friend's home, changing and tweaking as she went.

I really enjoyed watching the process as well as the outcome. A Perfect Gray also did a post on the show and even included paint colors if you are interested.

Did you watch? What did you think?
Also, anybody with excellent (or any) computer skills, please call. My support staff is letting me down. Yes, Bill. I am talking to you!!! I do not want to hear "I don't know what the problem is" one more time!! Love, Sissy

  3. I missed her show! I didn't really see but a glimpse of Design Star although I read some of Jenny's recaps. Those photos look great. Although is that wall to wall industrial/commercial carpet in the last two shots? Hmm. Good luck with your computer problems - that's no fun at all. Call the Geek Squad.

  4. I'm with you...the only one I can watch on HGTV is Sarah Richardson (loved her Design Inc show on Fine Living). We really need a fabulous design channel - a mix of both interior & fashion design. I miss shows like Fashion Television.

  5. maybe your computer will start working if you tell Bill the oven and washer and dryer are broke and you just don't know what the problem is!

  6. Good luck with the technical problems. I don't know anything about that stuff.

I love that last bedroom. It's perfection.

  7. Sissy, you are so cute. I wish I was visiting you, but I don't have any computer skills, so that would not help.

Wow, I love this post. When is that show on? My 2 year old TV died, but I could get cozy and watch in my office or bedroom.

  9. I don't have cable but I've been seeing her work on all the blogs and I'm very impressed! I can't wait to see more. Her style is so genuine, I love it! My hubs does computers, email me about your problems and I'll ask him about it!

  11. I agree, I watched Design Star and think that many of the rooms furnishings looked to be of poor quality. The episode where they were given one of Donald Trump's properties to design was a disaster! However, Emily's space on her new show looks great...and she is absolutely adorable and a natural in front of the camera. Good things do happen to good people :)

  17. I didn't watch the show. I'm not that drawn to it...for some reason.
I do like the white pouf and the black and white hide rug in the first two photos. Probably because those are two things that could be found at my house.

  18. Ooooh I Love that too!! I didn't get a chance to watch it. Thanks for sharing those fabulous snapshots! That first living room is so my style. And I definitely pulled the chair as a nightstand look too in my bedroom:

  21. Sissy, so glad that others are as taken with Emily as I am. I started reading her blog, The Brass Petal, months before she announced she was going on DS. Her writing is so witty and fun. I really like her writing style (almost) as much as her design style. Check it out, if you haven't. Today's post is hilarious!

Isn't it terrific to see a little more quirky/mix-y style and to see her go thru the process of putting a room together?

  22. I loved the show!

I don't have cable TV at home, but was so lucky to be on a family vacation roadtrip crashing at a Hampton Inn (with HGTV!) somewhere along I-95 in North Carolina and was able to watch it.

She was great - so nice to see the living room remade three times! Her combos were so fresh and looked lovely. I think the massive "FDR Chic" portrait with that simple handmade black frame really ruled the living room.

I have to figure out a way to watch her next shows!
