The Story of Tory

Confession: I have never been a huge Tory Burch fan. Please don't tell her, or it might be awkward when I see her next. Don't get me wrong, I thought her clothing was nice and everyone who wore it always looked great; it just wasn't for me. And that dang giant logo bugged me.

But things are changing. At the grocery store last night I saw her on the cover of Town and Country and she was wearing my necklace. My exact necklace I got for birthing Butterball! I wonder who she birthed to get her necklace?

And then these clothes!!

From her Resort Collection...Can you stand it?

I can't even begin to tell you what joy they bring me.

Especially these last two outfits. If you listen, you can hear them calling my name. It's a shame I'm so cheap, or I would be all over this....

  1. I just discovered your blog, from Two Ellie! It's great. Love it. I do love Tory Burch, though. Her clothes fit so well.
Looking forward to more visits to your blog!

  2. Funny, you should post this. My T&C is waiting to be cracked open & I wonder if it is because I don't quite see what all the fuss is about. On the other hand, I did think the logo was creative and was impressed with how she took the fashion world by storm; until, that is, I found out that she did not design the logo...she hired a firm to do it for her her. I understand & all that jazz, but I would have been much more impressed if it had been her own design.

  9. I like the clothes a lot. The shoes ARE super comfy, but the logos also turn me off. On top of that, they were what every college freshman was wearing two years ago and if I still my students wearing something en masse, it's off my list. Can't do it.

  11. I've always been kind of on the fence about TB. Sure, she's beautiful, has great style and a booming brand. I think my problem was with how she was initially marketed: as a self-made woman. She came from a very wealthy family and married very wealthy men, one of whom financed her debut - not exactly self-made. But, she does have talent. I recently bought some of her sunglasses. Love them!

  13. LOVE that necklace! I am a huge fan of Tory Burch's personal style but have found her clothing to be lacking in person. I think this might be changing!!

  14. I die. For that necklace ;) but get queasy as all get out, when faced with that tacky, in your face logo! And internally LOL, when I see women wear her stuff. I recently moved here from Manhattan...where nobody with an ounce of style would be caught dead wearing anything TB! No offense to domestic help, but thats all who wear TB in NYC. If only Wilmington knew. I do own a few pieces but have removed and replaced any TB evidence! BTW: have you seen her 95.00 jelly shoes? I swear she's playing a joke on us!! :)

  16. I was glad to see her in T and C. I really like going into her shops and I do love her style. Also-I really admire what she is doing for other women who want to start their own small business. That's quite admirable.
