Bye Bye Crib

Somebody is moving to a big boy bed.

It makes me a little sad. He sure is growing up fast.

Butterball's last night in his crib. I guess he's not a baby anymore. (Look at that face! So trusting. He has no idea what's in store for him tonight! Any helpful hints?)

  1. my stars. I could eat him up. so precious - he literally took my breath. I just sent my 16 year old off for the first day of 10th grade, so this makes me a little weepy for the days when he was this little. OK, just a LITTLE weepy. I'm good now....

I remember that mine fell out of the 'big boy bed' many times before getting the hang of it!

Here's to a good night's sleep for you all! Love, Donna

  2. Aww, he is so cute, Sissy! That does break your heart. They grow up so fast. It was just a couple of years ago when I went through the same thing. I don't think Pierce tried to get out of his big boy bed much (I think the bed rail made him feel secure and sort of locked in, so to speak). Wish I had more helpful hints. It's all a blur now! I can't wait to see his big boy room. I'm sure it will be just as precious as his crib! And I love that blanket!

  3. Aww! Your son is deliciously sweet! And so are his crib linens! We went thru this about a year ago with my youngest (and only boy) and I literally don't remember a thing, other than thinking this was another milestone he was doing much more seamlessly than his sisters! Or maybe its a third child thing...not sure...good luck!

  4. I was so nervous about the transition from crib to bed but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. We made a big deal about sleeping in a bed...hyping it up for my daughter. She looked a little confused the first night but she did great! Good luck!

  5. Hi there Sissy,
    Your little butterball is darling.
He will make the transition just fine, he has his big bro and sis to show him how to do it. Get a bed guard. You probably already have one.

How much more Summer time is there in your neck of the woods?

  6. He'll probably be so excited to be like his older siblings. We did have to sleep with Liam a couple of nights until he got the hang of it, but he loves it and it is so nice to lay with him at night to read books. Butterball is the cutest, by the way.

  10. Awww! He's adorable! try to make a big fuss about his new, beautiful bed (I don't mention the words "big boy" ever, because that makes mine say he want to be little..)- that's what worked for us.

  20. We must be on the same wavelength....tonight is my son's first night in his big boy bed, too!! We got the bed set up yesterday, the mattress arrived today and he is right now in his new bed. We told him now that he is a big boy w/a big boy bed, there is one rule! He has to stay in bed and needs to call us if he needs something. I hope it works....good luck!

  22. So sweet! My daughter had to move to a big girl bed after she completely deconstructed her crib. Not that she's ever slept in it, though.
