All You Need is a Little Ribbon...

Today, Jenny, at Little Green Notebook, posted a picture of some great looking curtains with a criss-cross design. As soon as I saw them I thought of the curtains in my husband's office.

The room isn't really an office, it's just where my husband can sit and watch all the golf he wants without having to flip back and forth between Dora and Diego.

They started out as plain Peyton Drapes from Pottery Barn. Too plain.

So one day I decided to spruce them up a little. I got 30 yards of ribbon ( or something like that), some ironing tape and went to work.

It's fairly easy but a little time consuming. The first panel wasn't that bad. Then the excitement of my new project wore off and it was several months before I finished the second panel.

But now they are both complete and I am happy...for now.

  2. Incredible! Can't imagine the time that went into that design. So glad there's someone else who starts a project, gets far enough into it to see how the finished project will look, the excitement wears off, fatigue sets in and its put away until the next wave of creativity...or guilt!

  14. That iron on tape is the best! I used it to add ribbon to my curtains too. I like yours better though, maybe I need to kick mine up a notch and do a pattern. hmmm, decisions, decisions.

  22. Those are so cute! What kind of ribbon did you get and how wide was it? What color? How did you get the pattern to look so perfect? Mine would be all over the place.

Why do I want to know? No reason. I'm definitely not stealing the idea or anything like that.
