Art Camp

Art Camp was a big success! I had a ball and I think the kids did too.

This is my big chalkboard sign that I have used over and over. It is just an old piece of wood painted with chalkboard paint. If I am ever having a show/sale, birthday party, art camp etc, it is the perfect welcome sign and lets people know they have the right house. (If you are thinking it is looking a little dirty, that's because after the last use, it got put behind the shed, not in the shed!)

I moved most of the furniture out of my living room and set up big folding tables. I used my dining room and kitchen chairs, but first covered them with Press-N-Seal wrap to protect them. It worked great! Every morning my living room looked like this, for about 10 minutes.

Once the creativity started so did the mess.

Nothing a little 409 couldn't take care of.

I am sick, sick, sick I didn't get pictures of the vases the kids painted. They did a fabulous job. This is a small jar I did as an example. I got straight vases, curved vases, tall vases and short vases. They picked one then decorated it with puffy paint and later sprayed them white. They turned out fantastic!! They filled the vases with paper flowers we made and the bright flowers in the white vases looked especially good.

All the campers with their self-portraits. All the paintings have such personality. I had a very talented group. We all worked on one last project together, but it is not finished yet. Can't wait until I can show it to you!

If you love crafts, kids and aren't afraid of a little mess I highly recommend art camp! It is the most craft fun I have had in ages. I can't wait until next week: New campers-new crafts!

  4. What a fun idea. I love art done by children and the kids self portraits are priceless. I have a feeling that the frame shops in your town will be getting a little extra work this week. What parent wouldn't want to hang their child's masterpiece.
