I love a makeover. I was browsing yesterday and came across one of the most vanilla rooms ever.
Thanks to Todd Moore the room now has some personality. I'm not usually a fan of painting only one wall, but I'm just so thankful to see some color I am not going to say anything this time.
This is the view that really sold me on the room. I spy my blue goblets on the table and I have those chairs. And I want that lamp. It is not exactly my style, but I think it is a wonderful example of what a little color can do. If you want to read more about the makeover go here.
What do you think? Do you like the brights? Or is it too much for you?

I wish all the walls were that color blue! But I like it.
ReplyDeleteTarheel took the words right out of my mouth. I'd love to see all of the walls that shade of blue.
ReplyDeleteI really like the one wall done, the room looks more inviting and friendly
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of the one wall color either, but overall I really like this room...those striped pillows on the two black chairs...do they match the lampshades on the built ins? Clever.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for the second pic, the first one was one of the blandest rooms I think I've ever seen!! I wasn't sure about leaving the black chairs in there, but the black border on the new rug helps them look much more at home!
ReplyDeleteLinda. :)
That sure does make a great Before pic !
ReplyDeleteI would paint all 4 walls that beautiful shade of blue!
ReplyDeleteDitto. I'm not a fan of the "accent" wall either. My husband has always liked it, but I've got the veto power in the house.
ReplyDeleteI have those glasses too and love the color they bring in to my house. Great before and after showing what difference a little color makes!
Oh my gosh that room needed some color. I'm with you on accent walls, but any color added to that room is a plus. I love the last image too.
ReplyDeleteHuge improvement! It's amazing what paint can do. I agree with everyone else who commented on how much nicer the room would look with the beautiful blue, on all the walls!
ReplyDeleteI am such a big fan of blue. I just painted my dining room blue. It went from raspberry to a Wedgewood blue. My husband's first comment was that it is now a happy room.
ReplyDeleteNice happy blue injection into that room! Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Such a happy room. But then again, I love color!

Not an accent wall kind of girl. Big improvement either way though! So cheerful!
ReplyDeleteI do like brights, I did a similar post this morning, bright vs. white! I really want to paint our whole living room red, but my husband is on the "one wall" kick. Argh. I'm thinking maybe we could START there... this looks good, though!
ReplyDeleteIt does look much better. A room always does look better without a tv. But what if they want to watch tv? Once, I'd like to see a designer deal with that real life obstacle.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a nice touch of color. I don't usually like just one wall with color either but I think it works!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much personality and class those blue walls bring to the room! And that shade? It's absolutly perfect. What inspiration!! Great post girl, great post.
