Hansel & Gretel

When life gets crazy, I crave small and cozy. I want to simplify. In fact, I was just talking to a friend about downsizing. Just in theory. Not reality. This blog is all about the daydream. I have always wanted to live in a cottage.

Maybe join Hansel and Gretel's supper club. (I knew I would regret cutting off my braids)

Learn to bake bread.

And grow flowers. Have a garden with roses...

Want to join me? This adorable cottage is one street over from me and it's for sale. Here.

Small and cozy is good, but so is big and fabulous. I would take this big mama cottage any day.

Do you ever dream of simplifying. Or living in a cottage?

  1. oh, you are too funny with your braids and Hansel and Gretel's supper club. I have already furnished my downsized cottage in my mind countless times, though I'll miss my house. Well, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself...The cottage on Mimosa is so cute {isn't it next door to Betsy?}. But who am I kidding? The big one is fab, and I want to see inside it, too!!

  2. This post was too funny. Just two days ago I was dreaming about selling everything and moving into a cozy cottage. By the next day, I was dreaming about moving into a house so big that there'd be room for everything!

  6. I dream of simplifying and living in a cottage EVERY day! Especially when I'm cleaning my 7,000sq.ft. empty nest. We're hoping the market will come back and we can sell it. The Hansel and Gretel cottage is to die for!

  10. Oh I love cottages! Thanks for sharing these great images.

My house is an old cape, but from the outside it always reminds me of little cottage!

  13. Love a cottage but with 7 kids it would need to be a medium size one. I do love to bake bread.

  14. Oh how I miss NC, my grandparents lived at Wrightsville Beach, so I know Wilmington well. Loved it and miss it sooo much. The cottage on Mimosa Place looks like just the lure to bring me back!

  16. I moved from a 1,000 square foot rustic place in the country to a 2,400 square foot 1920s Craftsman bungalow, so the place felt like a mansion for a while. I actually had to upsize rather than downsize. I love my neighborhood because it's filled with cottages of all shapes and sizes, and there's a sense of community - I think certain kind of people gravitate towards cottages and they seem to be MY kind of people!
