Come on Get Happy

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day! I sure did. I was lucky enough to spend the day at the beach with my family. It was sunny. It was pretty. It was exhausting! But we had a great time and it got me thinking about other mothers, my childhood, T.V. shows I watched, and the homes they lived in...there's just no telling where my mind will end up. I did a little research and found some of the homes from my favorite T.V. shows. I was surprised that I didn't recognize some of them.Thought it might be fun to share them with you.

The Partridge Family
I was going to get you to guess, but I think the bus is a dead give a way.
I have to admit, I don't really remember the house at all. David Cassidy, yes. The house, no. But isn't it cute?

Hello, world, here's a song that we're singin'
C'mon get happy
A whole lotta lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
We'll make you happy

Trav'lin' along there's a song that we're singin'

C'mon get happy....

Maybe next week we can get together and sing "I Think I Love You"

The back of the house. I don't remember this at all but it is so charming!! The arbor, the upstairs balcony and the topiaries? Love it all!

Right next door on the Warner Brother's lot was the house from "I Dream of Jeannie". Who knew Major Nelson lived next door to the Partridges?

And across the street lived Samantha and Darrin Stephens from Bewitched. What a fun neighborhood.

This is an easy one.. The Brady Bunch!! I don't know how they squeezed 6 kids, two parents, Alice and a dog in that house. Thank goodness Greg finally moved to the attic!

This is the home of Beaver Cleaver. If just looks so neat and tidy and charming. I am sure June is inside baking a cake. If my sisters or any Wilmington people are reading this, doesn't it remind you of the house I grew up in?

I didn't recognize this one either. Any guesses? Ritchie Cunningham's home from "Happy Days". What did Mr. C do for a living? He must have been doing well but I can't remember what he's job was? Anybody know?

*Update: My husband just told me Mr. Cunningham owned a hardware store..who knew?

O.K. I had to throw in a few from the movies..don't you just love the house from "Father of the Bride"?

You had to know this one was coming..."Something's Gotta Give". How many times did you watch this movie just to see the shots of the interior and the fabulous design job? Want to see more? For pictures of the inside click here.

This has got to be the world's most charming cottage. It's a little sad to know it was built just for the movie "The Holiday" and is not even a real house. This reminds me of some cottages I saw in Cottage Living. They were so whimsical and charming they almost didn't look real. I will share them with you soon.

Did I miss any of your favorite T.V. homes? If so let me know!!

  1. I had a great Mother's Day, but then I was pea green that I wasn't at the beach. If only Charlotte had a beach, it would be perfect! I love seeing these houses- who could remember that the Partridges had such a great house?! I adore that back view! I look forward to seeing your favorite cottages from Cottage Living- I miss it!

  2. Major Nelson's house would be tough to sell in this market w/that roof line AND of course the Brady's house was short on bathrooms. But I always loved that orange kitchen when I was little!

  4. I'd buy the Partridge's or Cleavers! I don't ever remember seeing the outside of the Cunningham's. Thinking about the set, I would have never guessed it's as large as the outside appears. How about Eight is Enough? I seem to recall that one being pretty nice. And don't forget Gilligan's hut! :)

  5. What a great post! The "Father of the Bride" house is almost identical to the one where I grew up in N.C. We had that same structure, a giant tree, and a yard full of ivy... but no picket fence. Too bad I had no appreciation for interior design back then :-) I love the "Something's Gotta Give" house!
