Cookies & Confessions

Remember last week when I showed you all the great finds on ebay and I didn't even tell you not to bid on them? Wasn't that generous of me? Well, I have a confession. There was one item I didn't show you ....because I was afraid you might out bid me on it. I am ashamed and feeling a little guilty.

It was this ...Katsugi fabric in Golden Mushroom. If it makes you feel any better, I didn't win it. It sold for .50 higher than my highest bid...dang!

I also didn't win:

Vintage Opaline Lamps. They sold for $550
Double dang!

Lotus Pendant. It sold for $455
I thought I was going to snatch up a couple of light fixtures for $100 or so. Who are these people who keep winning my stuff?

So much for getting a good deal on ebay last week. Good thing it is a new week and I can start looking all over again.

Now that the sad part is behind us and hopefully you have forgiven me, I want to show you a fun house that was in Cookie magazine. For those of you who aren't familiar with Cookie, it is a magazine for moms with young kids. Not young moms, but mothers with young children. It has advice, fashion, cooking and decorating. I have heard some grumblings from subscribers who are now receiving Cookie instead of Domino but I must say the latest issue rocks. Just look at the most recent home featured....

I love the built-in seating and the simple artwork

These chairs have got to be Anthropologie

My favorite thing in this room is the little girl's dress!

Can you see the mobiles hanging from the ceiling? The home owner made them from books!! How creative is that?

This room is great because it doesn't scream little girl, but it is still fun and youthful.

I saved the best for last.
I love how they put cork in between the wainscoting. Brilliant. Where in my house can I use this idea...??? I will figure out somewhere!!

More fun ideas from Cookie tomorrow, or maybe Wednesday.

  1. Awesome pics. So sorry about your bad luck with Ebay- $.50 is brutal! I too barely missed out on something I wanted badly. Oh well...

  2. I'll have to give Cookie another try (I was one of the grumblers:) - I think I was put off by the fact that I was getting a pareting magazine in place of a decorating magazine. I hope you don't mind that I added you to my blog list.

  3. This is pretty funny. I just googled Katsugi fabric, trying to get some ideas about what to make with it, and I found your blog. I'm the one who outbid you by .50. Sorry! I was actually surprised the auction went as high as it did. That seller has really great fabrics, and I wouldn't be suprised if she lists Katsugi again.
