Get the Look - Hootie's House

So I got to thinking about what I love about Hootie's house. 

I think it's the over all feel, finished but not too matchy. 

I have a hard time moving away from my matchy roots. It was drilled in my head that everything should match...but really when things are a little off or unexpected it is so much more interesting...don't you think?

And yes, while I do love everything, I need a little blue....

Just a few swaps here and there...in the living room I would use some of .....

Good Morning! 

I have a super great home tour for you today that I saw while visiting The English Room (and be sure to check out her son singing Wagon Wheel, amazing!!) yesterday. I know this is going to be all over blog world but I just had to share, it's that good. It is the home of Darius Rucker and his family in Charleston, SC decorated by one of my favorites, Angie Hranowsky.

So good, right? It's crisp and clean with pops of color.

Sophisticated but still family friendly. Do you think they would mind if I moved in - and brought a little blue with me?

I am itching to get out my can of white paint and give Casa Hydrangea a new look!!

The Perfect Tank

Life is full of challenges.

Finding the perfect tank shouldn't be one of them...

And I know because I have been searching for ages!!

I finally found one and when several people asked about the tank I wore in this post I decided to share the details...

Door Art

Rain, rain go away...

For days now nothing but rain!! Ugh!!

Cricket needed a project, she came up with....

And I LOVE it!!

The back of a door is the perfect place for an art experiment. Even better it is her bedroom door so she can enjoy it as she seems to spend A LOT of time her her room. 

It was fairly simple but time consuming. Lots and lots of blue painter's tape and acrylic paint. 

I have to say if I had known it was going to turn out so well I would have let her paint the front of the door!!

The Big City Comes to Wilmington - Mignonne Gavigan

 I ventured out last night to a trunk show for

Mignonne Gavigan.

Have you seen her fabulous beaded scarf necklaces? Amazing!!

Or as I like to call this picture, City Mouse - Country Mouse. I do think my new accessory adds a nice touch of big city to my outfit. I am going to look so cute when I am at Target tomorrow :)

The colors and details were amazing.

Can't you just picture an all black outfit with one of these fringe scarves?

Or a white t shirt and jeans? Or a blue and white striped t shirt?

So much to look at and it was all good!!

One thing I learned from these pictures...I need to wear more eye make-up. But this isn't about me, it's about some great accessories...
