Part 2 Ugly Shoes

My readers are the best!! I got so many e-mails from y'all and all it took was some ugly shoes!! I even got a text from a friend showing me her lime green Birkenstocks. Several of you thought that were hideous but most of you said once you wear them you will love them.

Here's how this whole subject came up: Since summer is approaching I have encouraged my fanny to head north, about two inches higher on my leg, where it used to sit. I am doing my part, walking every day, lunges, squats, etc. The good news is that when I look in the mirror and hold my leg at a certain angle I think I can see an improvement. The bad news is that since I have started all this exercise my feet hurt, my ankles hurt and my knees hurt. My daily wearing of flip flops does not help the problem. So begins the search for comfortable shoes while I whip myself into shape.

Does it help if they are in silver?

What about this style? Any better?
Oh come on, they're kinda cute. Sort of like a modified Dr. Scholl's.

There are several stores in town that specialize in "comfort shoes". I may put on my support hose and go check them out.

  1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Madrid style of Birkenstocks! I live in mine all Summer, I have the silver, matte blk. patent blk and my newest addition, Antiqued Brown. I've converted many friends and family members to the Birks side...give it a try!

  2. people may judge, but i have both those styles and love them. the gizeh are super comfortable and i have them in metallic gold. they aren't too flashy and i think they're cool. i've worn birks forever. i really can't wear heels, a wedge is as girly as it gets for me!

  4. Oh, Sissy, you crack me up. I've always hated the look of Birks but mainly the traditional ones with the two straps. I could definitely sport either one of these styles and feel stylish!
