I took down all my Christmas decorations on New Year's Day. I was sad. Locke was sad. Bill and Cricket were happy. Clay? I don't even know if he has noticed the tree is gone.
Our gingerbread house.
Cricket did most of it.
I love it and want to keep it...forever.
Do you get sad once the decorations come down?
Don't you miss all the white lights?
Or are you like Bill and Cricket? Ready to move on and clean up?
I always think my house looks a little naked without it's decorations.
What about you?
i am delaying taking my stuff down as long as possible. i still have EVERYTHING up, even my candles in the windows are still on.
ReplyDeleteit's depressing when everything comes down!
Well I solved that problem this year.......no decorations! We left on the 26th and when I get home this afternoon I will be so glad not to have to worry about taking it all down!!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, welcome back!! I wondered what had happened to you over all those months.
ReplyDeleteI love it when it all goes up. After a month I am ready to get it all put away. I usually hang in there for that last week though. I feel so much better now that it's all put away. It's like a fresh start and I was inspired to rearrange furniture again once the tree was outta there.
I think it is a bit sad when it has to come down. But I have a few new things to put up and rearrange so I am looking forward to it
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen looks great -- I love the simple wreath there! Don't be too sad. Christmas will be back before you know it! :)
ReplyDeleteSissy, A great post! Tell your son his gingerbread house looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteWhen my son was young we made a similar one and finally fed it to the birds. They loved it even more than us.

I'm usually sad, but this year I was the tiniest bit Grinchy and was happy to put it all away. Your tree is awesome, and your kitchen is so fabulous!! I too love the wreath and your blue canisters. So I know your house is going to make you happy without the decorations!! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm sad to no longer have the tree and cute little Santas everywhere...but I love having my house back to its usual self! That is one amazing gingerbread house! Very impressed :)
ReplyDeleteI do not get sad and I love the clean look. I always buy some plant, orchids and fresh flowers in January to make things look less bare and more cheerful.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even decorate this year, bah humbug! Next year I'll do it up big and keep it up for a long time.
ReplyDeleteCricket did a great job on the gingerbread house! Love the detail!
Your kitchen looks amazing. Hope you post photos soon. Would love to know who did your cabinets and countertops (I'm local).
