I have a chandelier almost identical to this except it is brown. I know, sad, sad color. I am thinking about giving it some bling and spraying it gold like this fab light...thoughts?
In other lighting news I think I could do this...with a lot of patience and maybe one of Clay's left over ADHD patches. Don't judge, DIY is not always pretty.
Yes to the gold and yes to the DIY! Just soak the patch in some vodka first ;)
ReplyDeletePlease do try - I love blue and from the name of your blog so do you
ReplyDeleteHave a delightful week

Yes and yes!! Wanna hear something funny - I painted a coffee mug at one of those pottery places with a blue zigzag over Christmas in Memphis. Wonder if it will look like the lamp? You should totally do it. I just wonder what kind of paint you use? I've tried painting over ceramic lamps before and it can go bad quickly. I love that lamp though, so it's definitely worth a shot (just grab a patch and do it!).
ReplyDeleteLove the chandelier....rub and buff.....and about that lamp...I have seen it before and I am totally in love. I can not for the life of me wrap my head around how to do a chevron pattern. The thought of asking my husband and having to listen to 30 minutes of the math associated with how to do it overwhelms me. So please...do it and show us how.
ReplyDeleteI think BLUE like in your or another accent color that may be in your kitchen. Check out Tobi's Blog (http://tobifairley.com/blog/2012/southern-living-feature-the-rothesay-lantern/)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

You crack me up!
ReplyDeleteI love that lamp- do it! I'm trying to figure out how to get that brush strokey glazed look. I would just ADD out and spray paint it probably.
When I looked at the lamp I totally thought it was perhaps hand painted. It looks like it could be a great project.
ReplyDeleteGo for it! I am sure you can thrift something similar.

Yes, spray it gold....& fast! I live in Wilmington & want to come over right now & do it for you. ;)
ReplyDeleteYes! Spray the light! :) x
ReplyDeleteYes to a gold chandelier but please don't spray it...RUG N BUFF it!!! You'll get a much more high end look.(find it at Michaels and it's cheaper than a can of spray paint) Would love for you to post after pics when done:)
ReplyDeleteLove the light fixture. Definitely give it a nice new shiny color. I also think the lamp would be awesome too.
ReplyDeleteI think both projects sound fab! You don't need the ADD patch. Order this vitamin supplement...Added Attention. it is THE BOMB! I have been giving it to my oldest for about 5-6 years and it is incredible. My hubby and I take it when we really need to focus. In fact, hubs took it today because he has big work presentations all day. On the days I take it, i get through my whole to do list. You can order it iherb. I think I have some sort of coupon code if you want it...I'll look.
ReplyDeleteI'll give you $50 for one of those patches.
ReplyDeleteJust kidding
Not really
Love both of them. I actually have a ginger jar lamp in blue that I would love to add white zig zags too. You've got my DIY juices flowing. -Cristi
