Second Chance

I have saved this picture for ages. Don't even remember where I first saw it. Maybe Cookie Magazine? But I loved this shower curtain from Anthropologie. I wish they still carried it. I would love to use something similar for curtains in my living room.

Then I saw...

This from John Robshaw. Doesn't it look exactly the same?

I am tempted to order some king size quilts and make curtains out of them. Wouldn't that be fabulous??? Thick and quilted and and full of tribal, lapis love.

P.S. By "tempted" I mean I will think about it day and night and drive myself crazy, but I won't actually order the quilts. This is what I will be thinking..."It's like the universe is giving me a second chance, I should order them. But they are expensive and I would need 4-6 quilts. But I have loved this pattern for years. It is a classic. What if I see something I like better tomorrow?" It is exhausting being crazy. Aren't you glad you aren't my husband?

P.P.S. I just checked John Robshaw's site again and you can buy the fabric, still the quilts would be cool. I need to find out a price per yard so I can add it to my craziness. Thanks! Sissy (If my sister Susan is reading this, Ainsworth & Noah carries this line)

  1. Do it. I did the same thing with that Atoll mirror that I couldn't live without until they brought it back. Then I could live quite nicely without it. But I still wonder if I should order it every day. xxoo

  2. I've got the same kind of crazy going on so I feel your pain. I would imagine the fabric is cheaper than 4-6 quilts - if so, just do it (as Nike so eloquently drilled into our heads)!

  4. Go for it! I totally know the pain you are going through. My husband just calls it my "crazies". Quilts could be very cool, but if the fabric per yard is substantially less go for the fabric... or I could cut you a stencil to make some;)

  5. I think we may be related? I got the same crazy gene. I spent the better part of a day last week scouring the web for the John Robshaw duvets that Bunny Williams used on her amazing "twin beds" project. Never did find them:( BUY it before it haunts your brain.

  6. Sissy, I love that fabric from John Robshaw. I had the crush too.

Have you seen the really lovely bed linens from West Elm?? The paisley quilt in dark gray floats my boat. They would make fabulous curtains... and then there is the cobalt and white duvet that makes me giddy... what is a gal to do?

    Keep us posted.

  7. Have you tried looking for them on ebay? Sometimes I find discontinued merch on there. I would see if JR has flat sheets for this. They might be cheaper. Or you could find a similar stencil and paint some plain white fabric yourself! No need to spend the money. I've met John Robshaw in person, have you ever seen a pic of him? Meow!

  9. I agree with the crazies! But also on the ebay idea. I did a post yesterday (http://bjdhausdesign.blogspot.com/2011/02/les-indiennes.html) that you might enjoy...these are also pricey but may be less than the quilts and they have a similar style to them...for whatever it's worth! I had to LOL when I read "aren't you glad you're not my husband?" I can totally relate to that! (and so can my husband :))
