Bittersweet Happy Thansgiving..

Thanks to Slim Jims, Cheetos and Dramamine we survived the car ride to Atlanta. We had a great visit with lots of family and friends.

Bill, Cricket and I got up early Thanksgiving morning to run in the Atlanta Half Marathon and 5K. We weren't quite up for the 1/2, so we ran the 5K.

But it wasn't just any 5K, we ran in honor of Bill's nephew, Miller Nuesse, who died unexpectedly on September 20. (click on his name to read a great article that ran in The Atlanta Journal and Constitution)

It was such a special day and I was thrilled Cricket decided to run with us. By "us" I mean me. Bill left us in the dust and Cricket would have left me, but I threatened to cut off her candy supply if she did.

Miller was a special boy to all of us and we will miss him. Yes, I know he was 21 years old, but to me he will always be that sweet 8 year old boy.

Hope your Thanksgiving was a happy one!!

  1. I know that must have been bittersweet. I'm off to read the article now. It's hard to heal after such a loss, but what a wonderful way to remember him.
