The Greenbrier Part 1

I learned something about myself this weekend..I do like fancy.

The Greenbrier was fabulous!! We stayed in a 3 bedroom cottage that was perfect! My favorite part? The two gentlemen who came in every morning and set the dining room table with pink linens, fresh flowers, scrambled eggs, bacon and Diet Coke. Heaven!

And talk about perfect! The hotel was over the top. If I had to use one word to describe it, it would be over the top. O.K. That's three words but you get the picture.

It is hard to get an idea of scale, but this lamp is over 3 feet tall. I know because I tried to stuff a similar blue and white ginger jar lamp in my bag.

Everywhere you turned was a fabulous, over the top detail.

These light fixtures? Over 5 feet round.

More dramatic details. Even Peanut is impressed.

If you like subtle and subdued, this is NOT the place for you.

Treats like this were around every corner. Love it!!

We went horseback riding, swimming & hiking...

Played shuffleboard and bowled.

Took a tour of the bunker and did falconry.

Oh, and we ate. And ate. And Ate. We even got to eat on the top of Greenbrier Mountain. It was amazing. Here we are dining outside looking out across the valley. Not a view you get too often living on the coast.

(I had to post this picture. Cricket rarely wears a skirt and Peanut is in seersucker pants and a jacket. That never happens!!)
These two kids had a ball!!!

We all did! Thank you Papa John & Gigi!!! The glamorous life is over..back to reality!

Have you been? If not, go. Go now!!

  5. I loved it - went for a GF weekend and we had the best time! The food was delish, the decor beyond belief. I've been to many posh establishments but I have to say - this was one of my favorites - it had such a light and cheery design to it! I'm so glad you had as much fun as we did - it was a splurge for us but I'd do it again! Jennifer jennsthreegraces
