I saw this fun chair over at Moxie Maley and fell in love with the fabric. I would like some of my own. Have you seen anything similar?
In other chair news, I saw these on Craig's List. Actually CraigLook which has changed my life. I love them. They currently live a glamorous life in L.A. Apparently they can hitch a ride on Greyhound for a fee. I am torn. The price is good if I get the chairs and love them. If I sit in them and love them they are more than worth it. If they arrive and I hate them it is a lot of money to waste. So, have you bought furniture without seeing it? Were you happy? Should I risk it? Should I get a life and quit worrying about chairs so much?
And yes, I would recover them...
And yes, I would recover them...
those chairs are great & if the price is right, i would have them shipped! i bought a pair of chairs on ebay to reupholster & i love them. i used tsc moving for a good shipping rate. the only fabric i though of immediately for a similar vibe but diff color is https://modgreenpod.com/item/12/. hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteThose chairs are amazing! I have never bought anything off of Craigslist, I know everyone love it...good luck!
ReplyDeletei often buy stuff off craigslist without seeing it...my hubbs goes out on his own to pick it up while i am home with baby..each piece is usually better than i expected...but also bigger, or smaller than I thought too
ReplyDeleteoh yeah, Sissy, do you have the exact dimensions? Good point!
ReplyDeleteThose chairs look like they have to be comfy! I have never bought any like that, though. I definitely would if the price was right. Can't wait to see what craiglook is. Is that first chair from Anthro? I haven't seen a similar fabric.
ReplyDeleteHmm, that is a dilemma. How often would you sit in the chairs? If it's everyday, then you might want to be able to test things first. If not, I say go for it.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm-- that's a good question. I am picky about having to sit in stuff before buying-- there is nothing worse than an uncomfortable chair. But-- the shape is outstanding. They LOOK comfy.
ReplyDeletePS-- you had asked about a dandelion fabric on my blog a week ago-- found here:http://www.premierprintsfabric.com/ddl.shtml I've never used this company but I've seen it on blogs-- might not be as heavy-duty as what I normally order? Really good price, though.
Love them. Do it.
ReplyDeleteThe chair is from Anthropologie and I think they specially print their fabrics or order exclusives!
ReplyDeletechairs are GOOD! I dunno, though, I think I'd have to try them out first. And that's funny coming from me. I ALWAYS go for look before comfort....
ReplyDeleteSissy, there will be a great pair of chairs near you one of these days.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow fabric? Cannot help you. Calico corners has something somewhat similar. Go online.
mb from Dallas
I love those chairs. Why not chance it if the price is right.
ReplyDeleteI say go for it! The chairs have great lines and look comfy. If they don't work, you can always put them back on Craigslist :)
ReplyDeleteLove the chairs and if the price is good enough worth the chance. You can always resale if you don't like.
ReplyDeleteOmg thpse chairs are fab. would't even care if they were comfy! could always put new cushions in anyway. great timeless style.. i don't think you can go wrong if the shipping is not crazy. will keep an eye out for the fabric.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for the late thank you on the Glenn Harmon post. Things are changing around here everyday and just got a fabulous white leather tufted sofa in! Thanks for the shout out! Come visit
if you are going to have them redone, they can be made more comfortable with new foam etc...
ReplyDeleteif it will drive you crazy with what if's...if you don't purchase them... then I say, go for it, you only live once...
Dying over these chairs. xx
ReplyDeleteoh yes and if not you can always put them back on Craigs list and get your money back...
ReplyDeletelove the chairs! love the fabric!! x
ReplyDeleteThese look just like the chairs in Tory Burch's appartment in NY!
ReplyDeleteThe chairs are awesome...I'd make sure they came from a non-smoking home though if it were me. But they do look comfy, and the shape is sweet!
ReplyDeleteThose CL chairs are hot! I like them better than the new one. You may have to throw caution to the wind and put 'em on that bus! Keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of the chairs- if the price is right- go for it. Like someone said above- if you don't like them- you can always relist on Craig's List! Can't wait to see what you decide to do... esp what fabric if you do purchase them!
ReplyDeleteGlad you loved the chair and fabric - and I just hate that I can't remember where I found the image! I'll do some searching. Romo has great large scale floral fabrics but their prices can be up there. Good luck!
ReplyDeletethe chair is from Anthropologie - not sure if fabric is or not.
ReplyDeletethey sure are cute -- can they really be that uncomfortable?? if so, don't tell us -- it looks like you would have some takers here if you need to get them off your hands :)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds crazy, I know, but maybe ask the person selling them if they can get a photo with someone sitting in one of them. That will give you an idea of the size.
ReplyDeleteHey There- -found your blog via LGN- - love that you are local! I am crazy for craiglist, although in our little town you have to hunt for greatness:) anyway... check out this chair posted today....not exactly the same, but same idea...

The fabric you have posted reminds me of Calico Corners Aviary/Maize. See link: http://www.calicocorners.com/product/designer+fabrics+for+the+home/shop+fabrics+by+color/gold/aviary+maize.do
ReplyDeleteLove the chairs - definitely, let us know what you decide to do!

ReplyDeleteI'd go for it!! They look so comfortable!
