The Octopus

I saw this picture ages ago and saved it in my favorite file. Something about the octopus really appealed to me.

I love the enormous size and how it is framed in three sections. It makes such a statement. He just seems happy and that makes me happy.

Remember my friends Giuliana and Bill? Guess who is hanging in their apartment? This is getting interesting. Next, I stopped by a new shop in Wilmington. Hewitt. Everyone said I just had to go. So I went and ...you know what is coming right?

Yep! There hanging on the wall was my eight legged friend. I must say he looked fabulous in person.

The rest of the store didn't disappoint either.

There was something for everyone. Those who like brights and

those who like lights.

From fun floor cushions to...

Funky art. I thought this guy had a lot of personality. Porcupine? Hedgehog?

This grouping looks like it came right out of Domino. Or should I say Lonny?

Let's see... I like the table, the chairs..pretty much the whole store.

I thought these were pretty darn cute and they reminded me of the chairs my mom bought for the twins.

So if you live in Wilmington stop by Hewitt and ask for Robin. Tell her I sent you.You won't be disappointed. What do you think of the octopus? Does he remind you too much of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea? Cute or creepy?

  3. I'm not sure about the octopus, but I love the idea of the three separate pieces.

That yellow urn is on my current wish list.

  11. I love tryptichs, and I think mr. 8 legs looks great. I could really see him looking good in a room with a lot of browns and creams (at least from the color I see on the screen). Did you see the giant bee in Molly Sims' apt? Seems to be a bit of a trend!

But just wanted you to know that I love your blog. I love your wit. And I also love the color blue.

  18. I love any pics broken into different frames - much more interesting that way!

(And on another note: I'm browing through your archives, and I need to know more about this green warehouse thing. My husband is from Beulaville - which you HAVE to know about if you travel to Warsaw! Is there a Web site? Is it open to the public? More info, please!!)
