Feeling Blue?

Not me. I got a surprise in the mail I can't wait to show you and it's Friday!

I decided to leave you with some pretty pictures.

They all have one thing in common.

A pop of blue.

Next time I paint the exterior of my house I may have to go for the blue door.

Blue is bright and happy without jarring you.

Like red does. O.K. red lovers, don't take offense.
Nothing personal, it's just not one of my favorite colors..And I like it in your homes. Just not mine. It is very sophisticated. Have you met me? I don't think anyone has ever used the word sophisticated to describe me. And I'm O.K. with that.

I L O V E this print. And really, who doesn't love blue?
What's your favorite color? If you say red I am going to feel bad.

Hope you have a great weekend!!

  1. okay, that's funny about red. feel the same way. i have a friend who does red wonderfully, but it doesn't work in my home. we were just discussing it and i said...the only way you'll find any red in my house is if someone's bleeding. i am another die hard blue fan. that door is extremely tempting!

  2. BLUE is my favorite color, of course, and I don't like red one little bit. LOVE these pictures- that first one makes me so happy, I can hardly stand it. What did you get in the mail?!

  3. i love blue too. and i am the same with red, in their homes...not ours. i tend to enjoy the cooler hues more than the warmer ones.
also, that bedroom with the book cases on either side disturbs me a little. it seems too library for a bedroom. the art above the bed is pretty but the room overall makes me squirm a little.

  4. Blue is definitely my favorite color (and hydrangea is definitely my favorite flower...which explains how I found your blog). So impressed with your bathroom from yesterday and love all the turquoise in today's post. Turquoise is the one shade of blue that I love, but have never used. Has to be done right...you've inspired me...again!

  5. Red is really my favorite color- but we balance each other out! You're calm and southern and I'm northern and ....fill in the blank!! We only have one red room because Arty doesn't like it-like he has ANY taste!

  7. I am a flip flopper... I have a red dining room and khaki living room with rich green and touches of red... but my favorite room is my office which is like a den for me and I have a butternut squash color on the walls with a scrolled graphic that I painted on two walls that I added a touch of teal shadowing to the translucent white scroll... and I love that room. As far as a favorite color to wear I have to say red... but I love pink too... I am definitely drawn to a touch of teal. Just have no commitment! But love your touch of teal post!

  8. I am a blue/green kind of girl! Mix them together for a turquoise and I am in heaven! I love the door in picture number 4, and say go for it for your next house!

  10. You know, I like little pops of red, but that's about all I can stand. But, I love orange, which is red's close cousin, so it sort of mystifies me. But, green is my very, very favorite! I see green and my eyes light up every time! And blue and green together--drool! My fave color combo (but hard to do in a way that doesn't remind me of my favorite outfits from grade school :-).

  12. I think my problem is I don't have a favorite color or a hated color really (although I'm not a huge fan of lavender or wine/burgundy). Along with DADD, I also have CADD (color ADD). I change my mind a lot. I tend to stick with warm neutrals (lots of caramel and chocolate in my house) and then add pops of color throughout. I do have red in a persian rug, but it's muted with cream and chocolate. I do love turquoise lately though . . . so I love your Vallerysthal pieces. Keep up your wonderful blog!
