Let's Add Some Trim

Thank y'all so much for all the comments and e-mails about the wallpaper. I got several samples in the mail yesterday and I am waiting for a few more before I make my decision on light blue or dark blue.
Before the wallpaper goes up I am going to add some chair rail and maybe some wainscoting or other trim...

Traditional Foyer with a grid of grasscloth wall covering detail.

Graceland...love the mirrors

Loving this mirror so much I can barely stand it.
Guess where this is?
Graceland!! I know, aren't you shocked?
Never thought I would be getting decorating tips for Elvis!!

Light or Dark

OK, I think I have finally decided on grasscloth for my entrance hall.
And I know I want blue..big surprise, huh?
But now I have to decide if I am going light or dark...

First up...Light

Light blue grasscloth wall,

Powder room! LOVE the Blue Canton china and the red lanterns!! Seagrass grass cloth by Phillip Jeffries.

Foyer - Wall molding inlaid with metallic grass cloth elegantly sharing the space with a classic side chair, antique console table and silver framed round mirror. Sophisticated elegance. (repinned photo only from Greg Natale - Sydney based architects and interior designers)

And next Dark...

Blue grasscloth + white wainscoting + patterned rug on stairs

I really love the navy lacquered wall with board & batten, the graphic octopus art...and the shade of wood of that sideboard goes so well with navy

They're both good, right? But which one is better?

The New Neutral

I have a new neutral for fall....

J Crew Jacket

salonben6

Yep, camo. I think it goes with everything.
I ordered these pants...

And I highly recommend them; they are great!!
From Gap
I also ordered a jacket, but I haven't gotten it yet, so I can't tell you if it is great or not. It is from a new - or new to me - online site like Ebay. It's called Tradesy, have you heard of it? I bought a gently worn J Crew camo jacket for practically nothing. I think it was worth the risk, plus you know I love a deal. I'll let you know once it arrives and in the meantime cross your fingers for me!

So are you on board with the camo look or it is too Duck Dynasty for you?

Book Club

So you know how much I love books...I love to read them, stack them, loan them out...I love everything about them. That is why I have such a love hate relationship with my NOOK. I would rather read a real book, but that dad gum NOOK is so convenient. Need a new book? it's just a click away. And boy have I been putting my NOOK to work, I feel sorry for the guy who is going to get my NOOK bill.

Recently I have read and liked:

Chicago's World Fair and a Serial Killer - some people just ain't right - and the scariest part? It's all true!!

Not even sure how to describe this...mystery, family saga, all good.

But my very favorite has to be:

I just loved this book!!
It has it all: love, loss, food, New York and flashbacks to live in the South. What more could you want?
Read it quick and let me know what you think.
Have you read anything good lately?

Fall Shoes

Yes, I said Fall. Can you believe it? Around August 1st I start to panic, summer is running out, school is about to start, schedules, homework, after school activities and then, before you know it, winter is here, and I am scared of winter!! To help calm myself down, I like to window shop for fall clothes. Does shopping calm you down too?

Sam Edelman Silver Metallic 'Jerome' oxford.

Would you dare to wear silver oxfords? I love them, but only if they are big and clunky, otherwise they look too jazzy dance shoes...not my favorite look.

Adidas Gazelles

Loving some good old fashion Adidas...comfy and cool.

And these are just fun...
I also have my eye on some great looking Frye boots...more on them later. I am just getting back into blogging and I don't want to over do it!!

Do you have a favorite?
Are you already shopping for fall or still holding on to summer?
